Current corporations, regardless of whether they are charities, not-for-profit, or for-profit organizations, are evaluated on the single criteria of income less expenses, otherwise known as profit. The fact that there is only this single measure of effectiveness is the root cause of results such as planned-obsolescence, treating pollution as an externality, and considering any amount of administrative overhead a mark against a charity, no matter how much more effective it would make them in delivering their service.
