Equestrian Center

Long-time supporters of the Mandala Village vision, Pearl and Walter Sumner, a retired couple that provided support selflessly to this author as did several others, must be remembered for their contributions. Walter was a British Columbia cowboy (yes the real McCoy) – envisioned an equestrian center where he could help young people learn from his extensive experience. Considered a “horse-whisperer” by some, he might have been a formidable force for directing the activities of the facility we will call: Sumner Memorial Equestrian Center. Walter’s partner Pearl recently passed away and her devotion to the Mandala community vision will be equally honored through an endowment fund in her name, purposed to promote and develop autonomy for women.
